Who we are

This site, tomrankin.net, is operated by Squatch.cc LLC (“we,” “us”), a software studio headquartered in Springfield, Missouri, United States. Contact: tom@tomrankin.net.

What we collect

We only collect what you give us directly, and only what we need to reply:

From email: whatever you send to tom@tomrankin.net. It lands in a real inbox.
From booking a call: your name, email, and the time you selected, as collected by our booking page, which runs on Google Calendar appointment scheduling. That booking data is processed by Google under their privacy policy.

This site does not run analytics, ad-tech, fingerprinting, or session-replay.

How we use it

To reply to your note or confirm your call.
To send booking confirmations, replies, service updates, or receipts by text only if you opted in to SMS (see below).

We do not add you to a marketing list, and we do not send drip campaigns.

SMS / text messages

If — and only if — you give us your mobile number and tell us directly, in writing or on a call, that you want text messages, we may send you booking confirmations, replies to your note, occasional service updates, and receipts by text message. Message frequency varies. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any message to unsubscribe, HELP for help. The full program disclosure lives at /messaging.

We do not share, sell, or rent your mobile number, or the fact that you consented to receive SMS from us, to any third party for marketing purposes. Mobile numbers collected for SMS are transmitted only to Twilio, our toll-free messaging provider, strictly to deliver the messages you opted in to receive. Twilio’s role is a data processor under our instructions.

If you give us a number for some other reason and never ask for texts, it is not enrolled in SMS. Opting out of SMS (by replying STOP or emailing us) doesn’t affect the rest of the conversation — we can still reach you by email if you want us to.

Who we share information with

Twilio — only when you have opted in to SMS, and only to send the messages you opted in to receive.
Cloudflare — hosts this site. Standard request logs; no application-level analytics.
Google — only when you book a call; the booking page runs on Google Calendar appointment scheduling.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it with advertising networks. We do not share it with data brokers.

Sensitive information

This public site is not a channel for sensitive personal or health information. Please don’t send clinical details, government identifiers, or credentials through email or SMS. If an engagement needs a protected channel, we’ll set one up as part of the work — never through the public site.

Cookies

This site sets no cookies at all — not analytics, not marketing, not tracking, and no consent cookie either, because there is nothing to consent to. Booking happens on a Google Calendar page hosted by Google, on a separate domain — any cookies that flow sets are Google’s and never reach this site. No cross-site tracking.

How long we keep it

Intake records and correspondence are kept as long as our working relationship (or possible relationship) with you is active, plus a reasonable tail for accounting and legal records. Email us and we’ll delete what we can; some records tied to executed engagements may need to be retained to meet legal or accounting obligations, and we’ll tell you which.

Your choices

Ask for a copy of what we hold about you — email tom@tomrankin.net.
Ask us to correct or delete it — same address.
Opt out of SMS at any time — reply STOP, or email us with the number to remove.

Children

This site isn’t directed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their information.

Changes

If this policy changes materially, we’ll update this page and the date below. We don’t backdate.
